The Inventors:Force Labs provide an environment in which
knowledge is shared between all participants. The Labs start with providing the
basics of the subject, just enough knowledge that the children can start tinkering,
collaborating, experimenting, researching, playing and inventing. The
imagination of the children should be the main driver on how they will apply
the new knowledge – it is not the intention of the Labs to provide predefined projects.
The children will learn based on the trial and error strategy – They will learn
that an error is just a feedback to help you to identify that a chosen approach
doesn’t work as expected and gives you guidance on improving your strategy.
Children who have discovered something are encouraged to share this with the other participants. The Labs should also guide the children how to find/access resources to research and enhance the knowledge of the Lab subject by themselves. Collaboration instead of 1 to many teaching is the principle of the Labs.

My dream is that our children will be more makers than
consumers, more adventurers than followers, more thinkers than repeaters,
Ralf
